What a UV Light Actually Does for Your HVAC System

UV lights installed in an HVAC system kill bacteria, viruses, and mold growth on the evaporator coil and in the airflow, going beyond what filters alone can catch.

Joe recommends long-life, whole-home options like Remy Halo LED lights, which last around five years and pair carbon filtration to capture what the light neutralizes as air passes through.

Together, the light and carbon filter combination cuts down on pet dander, household odors, off-gassing from finished surfaces like floors and furniture, and seasonal allergy triggers, while keeping coil growth from taking hold.

Alright, this week we’re gonna be talking about UV lights and what they actually do for your HVAC system. There’s a bunch of different UV lights. You can get single room UV lights that only do so much square feet or something like this. Were you have a UV light that can impact the entire home?

Let’s talk about that today. So there’s a lot of different types of UV lights, which one’s gonna be best for you?

Now the best recommendation I can give you to make something that’s gonna have a long life that way you’re not worried about changing a bulb every six months on top of changing your filter.

Something like these Remy Halos LEDs, they last for five years. They have carbon filters on the side of them that allow the air as it passes through to catch anything that’s in your air and then kills it all. So some of those things that’s gonna clean out of your air, it’s gonna kill your bacteria viruses. It’s gonna keep growth from happening on these coils.

While in Colorado, we don’t have to deal with that a lot. But there’s still some times where you do get a little growth on that. It’ll shine the light on top of that coil and not allow it to grow anything that’s inside. On top of that, you’re removing pet dander, odors docs, everything that has a stain finish, like your floors, your dressers, anything like that off puts bad gases and harmful gases into your home. It’ll also take care of all of that seasonal allergies.

Forget about it. Not with these. When you go into your home, you’re gonna be breathing better, and you’re just gonna be all inclusive more comfortable. Stay tuned for next week’s video
