Safety is Our Top Priority

With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic moving through Colorado, you’ve probably wondered about High 5 Plumbing’s health and safety response to the crisis. After all, any plumbing repair requires a technician to enter your home, and we understand how that may worry you.

Your health and safety are our top priorities. This has always been true for our business, but during these concerning times, your safety is especially paramount.

In light of COVID-19, we’re being vigilant with a number of safety measures. As essential service providers, our team continues to offer exceptional service while also closely following CDC guidelines. We’re doing our utmost to navigate this situation as safely as possible for both our customers and our employees.

Below are just a few steps we are taking to ensure that our staff and our clients are safe at all times.

1. We Work Remotely

The High 5 Plumbing team began working remotely on March 19, 2020, before the State of Colorado had even suggested such steps for our industry.

Our fully-functioning office staff is working from home (and doing an amazing job of it) to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently. Most days, our technicians are dispatched from home.

We host all our meetings virtually via Zoom (see above), including a company-wide meeting every Tuesday, shift huddles, and one-on-one coaching.

And because we implemented our High 5 Plumbing Live service way back in 2018, delivering you instant video estimates is a breeze–and nothing new for our team!

The only people who have been in our office since March 19 are our Founders, Cassi and Levi Torres.

2. We Sanitize Everything That Leaves Our Shop

If a technician needs to stop by the warehouse for supplies, they follow a strict protocol of safety measures:

Technicians pull up to the warehouse door one at a time.
Levi pulls all the materials required by that specific tech.
Levi disinfects every single part before it leaves our shop and goes into the tech’s service truck.
We repeat this process for every technician, whether once a day or 10 times a day.
At the end of each day, once Levi is done at the shop, he sanitizes any area in which he has worked.

3. We Disinfect All Devices, Tools, and Vehicles

As a progressive, tech-forward company, you might know our technicians use iPads on the job. We recognize these are extremely high-touch devices, so before and after every customer transaction is completed, our technicians disinfect their iPads.

They also sanitize any tools used at the start and finish of every job. Even their service trucks get a full sanitization treatment–twice a day!

Additionally, as of April 14, 2020, we’re in the process of setting up a system that allows our technicians to offer touchless job approval and payment. We look forward to making that available to you very soon.

4. We Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The need for personal protective equipment (PPE), especially for essential workers, has been a major topic lately.

Our technicians are equipped with masks, gloves, covers for their shoes, disposable coveralls, and eye protection. They also have a full supply of disinfectant wipes, sprays, and cleaners to disinfect any service area in your home, both before starting work and after completing work.

Gloves and shoes covers are replaced for every new job. Masks are replaced daily. And coveralls are replaced as used.

5. We’re Well-Stocked With PPE to Keep You Safe

You’ve probably seen and heard news accounts about people having a hard time getting access to PPE nationwide. Even hand soap is still hard to come by! We’re grateful to be in a much different situation at High 5 Plumbing.

We’re proud to say that since starting High 5 Plumbing, we’ve always carried PPE on every service truck. As such, we’re grateful that when the COVID-19 response called for comprehensive PPE, we didn’t have to scramble to find supplies because we already had enough on-site.

This is a new standard we’re holding ourselves to. These protective, proactive safety measures are part of our ongoing commitment to providing you the highest quality service, whether or not Coronavirus is part of our day-to-day lives.

6. We Still Offer Service Worthy of a High 5

While we’ve certainly ramped up our safety protocol in light of COVID-19, our fun, can-do spirit is still very much a part of every service call. We love ending a job with our trademark High 5, but for now, they’re taking place six feet apart. Air fives still get the point across, so thanks for those!

Rest assured, when you give us a call, you’re guaranteed service worthy of a High 5. Nothing has changed about that!

We’re a Team You Can Trust

At High 5 Plumbing, we take pride in our efforts to provide an essential service to our customers as safely and effectively as possible.
